Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana Recognized as Agency of the Year and Receives Pinnacle Award at BBBSA National Conference
Indianapolis – Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana (BBBSCI) is proud to announce the agency has received two top honors from Big Brothers Big Sisters of America and the Big Brothers Big Sisters Nationwide Leadership Council. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana was named as Agency of the Year for 2017 and was selected out of more than 300 national affiliates as the top performing mid-large agency in the country. BBBSCI also received the Pinnacle Award. The agency was recognized during the 2018 National Conference in Saint Louis in June.
The Agency of the Year award winner is selected based on substantial growth in the number of children served, quality and length of mentoring matches, and increased revenue. BBBSCI plans to grow total matches served from 1,150 annually to 1,500 annually by 2022 and then agency’s one-year match retention rate is in the top 10% of affiliates in the country. To celebrate the long-term impact of strong and enduring relationships, BBBSCI hosts an annual graduation event for graduating matches. In the past 10 years, BBBSCI has grown the graduating class from less than 20 matches to almost 60 matches.
The Pinnacle Award is a way for Big Brothers Big Sisters of America to recognize agencies that have demonstrated exemplarily high achievement and measured quality outcomes for the children and families they serve in their communities. To qualify, agencies must increase their revenue by at least 5 percent, grow their overall number of matches for two or more consecutive years, and meet or exceed several important quality metrics. In the past year alone, BBBSCI served 1,165 matches.
“We’re really proud of this recognition,” Darcey Palmer-Shultz, BBBSCI Chief Executive Officer, said. “Our team works hard every day to make sure we are always doing more and doing better for kids in our community, and being recognized as Agency of the Year in the Big Brothers Big Sisters network shows that we are doing something special here in Central Indiana. It takes a lot of dedicated people to bring this mission to life, and we celebrate this accomplishment with everyone who is part of BBBS.”
“I am so proud of the members of our staff and board who work tirelessly to help kids in our community,” Susan Brock Williams, BBBSCI Board of Directors President, said. “Our entire agency has worked non-stop to provide quality mentoring relationships for boys and girls in Central Indiana. I am incredibly excited for the future and to grow and impact more lives through our programming.”
BBBSCI has been supporting life-changing mentoring relationships for over 16 years in Indianapolis.
