“I have the BEST Big Sister Ever!”

Today’s blog is written written by two guest writers, Big Sister Courtney and Little Sister Ruby! They were matched in June 2016 and they stopped by the blog today to chat about their match experience so far.

“Ruby and I were matched 2.5 years ago. During the interview process, BBBSCI assured me that they would match me with someone who was similar to myself. I did not know how accurate this would be until I met Ruby! From the first time we met at her house, we hit it off. One thing her and I have in common is that we both grew up in a two-parent household where one parent was away from the house for work sometimes. I always wanted a younger sibling because I was the baby of my family and Ruby always wanted a big sister because she was the oldest in her family. We both enjoy being outdoors, doing crafts, playing volleyball, listening to country music, baking, and finding fun ways to pay it back to our community! Just when I thought we couldn’t be any more alike, I learned that we both love sausage and mushroom pizza! Aside from this, Ruby and I also have very similar personality traits as well as sense of style. There have been outings where Ruby and I are dressed alike without planning to!  Thank you to BBBSCI for matching me with my mini me! 😊” – Big Sister Courtney English

“I have the BEST Big Sister ever! We are so similar and connected really well. Courtney is funny, caring, and understanding. I love spending time with Courtney. BBBSCI matched Courtney and I perfectly! We love doing service projects. We also enjoy doing other things around the community. We always find something to do and we have fun. Courtney always makes sure I am having a good time.” – Little Sister Ruby
