Little Brother Nathan and Big Brother John Manning have been matched together for 6 years. Nathan will be attending IUPUI this fall and plans to study computer science. Nathan is very passionate about computers and spends much of his free time programming, so he is excited to go to school in the fall to study it! Good luck, Nathan!
Nathan is also the recipient of a $1,000 Be Big Scholarship to be used for room/board, textbooks, tuition, and other expenses that may be occurred during the first year. This scholarship was made possible with funding from the Parallel Design Group Big Futures Scholarship and Ivy Tech Scholarship Funds. Congratulations!
When asked to reflect on his relationship with his Big Brother John, Little Brother Nathan shares that he has helped him learn to be more outgoing and adventurous in life. An example he gave of this is John took him to go indoor rock climbing, which is something that Nathan said he never would have tried on his own. In addition to trying new things, Nathan and John have spent a lot of their time volunteering together. They volunteered at Crew for Kids, Pack Away Hunger, and packing lunches for the homeless. Nathan shared, “Through John, I have learned the meaning of giving to others and how it puts a smile on my face to help others in need.”
