Starbucks Hosts Statewide Day of Service with Big Brothers Big Sisters Agencies in Indiana

Indianapolis Starbucks, in partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters, is hosting a statewide day of service on Saturday, February 18, 2017 to engage Bigs (mentors) and Littles (youth) in philanthropy. Locally, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana (BBBSCI) has been partnering with Starbucks for over eight years to provide matches with this opportunity and this year, Starbucks has engaged BBBS agencies throughout the state to participate. At select Central Indiana Starbucks stores, Bigs and Littles will be getting together to create cards for local veteran’s groups.

DeShonne Jackson, Regional Director of Operations for Indiana at Starbucks, shared, “Starbucks is proud of the partnership we have with BBBS in the state of Indiana. We believe in the work the organization is doing to impact our communities, and more importantly - changing the lives of our youth.”

Darcey Palmer-Shultz, BBBSCI Chief Executive Officer, added, “Starbucks is a valued partner of Big Brothers Big Sisters, and our Bigs and Littles look forward to this activity every year. The team members at Starbucks go out of their way to make this a fun and special experience, and it’s a great way for our Littles to learn about giving back to others.”

On this day, 25 matches from BBBSCI and leadership members from BBBSCI and Starbucks will be present at select Central Indiana Starbucks stores and Bigs and Littles from around the state will also be participating at Starbucks stores in Auburn, Columbus, Elkhart, Lafayette, Muncie, Terre Haute.
