Go big.
We’re always looking for people eager to positively impact a child and improve their community at the same time. And, right now is no different. Being a Big Couple is one way you can impact a child. So, Start Something.
For a few hours, a couple times a month, you can give a Little the invaluable gift of your friendship. By simply changing their perspective of what the world can offer, you can literally start changing their lives. And sometimes it’s as simple as playing video games, going to a museum, or just hanging out together.
What is a Big Couple?
- A Big Couple is a pair of older friends or role models that all younger kids deserve.
- A Big Couple is a pair of friends who teamed up to shoot hoops with you in the driveway, hung out together with you at the pizza parlor or caught a double-feature with you at the movies.
- A Big Couple are the friends you could always count on to have fun, hang out and goof off.
- A Big Couple are the friends you always wanted to be when you grew up.
What does it mean when you become a Big Couple?
- It means you will be matched one-to-one with a deserving youth between the age of 8 and 14. To serve our growing population of young men, BBBSCI often encourages Big Couples to consider being matched with a boy.
- It means that just by being friends with a young person, you can have a positive influence on them that can help change a life, build their self-esteem, and help them figure out what they want to be and can be.
- It means you decided that you could simply spend one hour per week doing something that really matters—both in your lives and in the life of a central Indiana youth.
- It means you will be on your way to finding out how BIG you can be as you make a young friend for a lifetime.
