Local Restaurants Support BBBSCI during November

delicia-logoThis month you can enjoy a delicious meal while also supporting BBBSCI just by dining at two beloved Indy restaurants. When dining at Delicia and Northside Social this month, not only are you treated to a unique dining experience, but you’re also supporting BBBSCI!

As part of the restaurant’s “Give Back Tuesdays” program, 5% of total sales from both restaurants on every Tuesday in November will be donated to BBBSCI.

Candice Briggs, Service Manager at Delicia, said the decision to support BBBSCI during November’s “Give Back Tuesdays” program was the result of the restaurants’ desire to support a local organization that works specifically with children.

northside-social-logo“We wanted to work with an organization that also does a lot for our community and we feel that [BBBSCI] is a great example of that,” she said. “It was also important to us to be involved with organizations that are focused around children for the holiday season, as it can be such a difficult time for families. Those things, combined with many others, helped us to decide working with you would be mutually beneficial.”

Andrea Groner, BBBSCI Donor Relations Coordinator, said the support from the establishments is a fun and unique way to raise both funds and awareness for our agency.

“I am very happy that Delicia and the Northside Social have chosen us for Give Back Tuesdays,” she said. “This is such a convenient [and delicious] way to engage our community and spread the word about Big Brothers Big Sisters’ mission to help improve the lives of Central Indiana youth through one-to-one mentoring relationships.  We are so excited to kick off this partnership!”

In addition to donating 5% of their Tuesday sales to BBBSCI, both restaurants will also accept donations to BBBSCI from patrons and restaurant staff.

“Give Back Tuesdays” is a perfect lead up to BBBSCI’s annual “Giving Tuesday” event. This year’s “Giving Tuesday” takes place on Tuesday, November 29 and is a counter narrative to Black Friday and Cyber Monday because it reminds us that the spirit of the holiday giving season should be about community and not just consumerism. This is an opportunity for BBBSCI to celebrate the impact that Bigs have on our shared community and to engage all of Central Indiana in a one-day online fundraising and volunteer campaign that will help BBBSCI match more youth with caring adult mentors.
