INDIANAPOLIS – On September 26, 2019, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana (BBBSCI) is partnering with Eli Lilly & Company through the United Way Connect Hearts at Home Initiative for the “Go BIG for Kids” campaign as part of Eli Lilly’s annual “Global Day of Service.” This is the fifth year the organizations have partnered together for this recruitment initiative.
On this day, over 200 volunteers from the Eli Lilly IT Research Team will distribute more than 800 BBBSCI yard signs to mentors (“Bigs”), families of youth served (“Littles”), community supporters, corporate partners, and school partners across Marion, Hamilton, and Johnson counties to raise awareness of the need for more mentors.
Volunteers will also create and assemble friendship bracelet packets to distribute to new pairs of youth and volunteers at their first meeting to help jumpstart their relationship. There are hundreds of kids waiting for a Big of their own, and the “Go BIG for Kids” campaign raises awareness within the community of the BBBSCI mission.
