Little Sister Stanisha and Big Sister Grace Aker have been matched together for 4 years. Stanisha, a 21st Century Scholar through the Indiana Commission for Higher Education, will be attending the University of Arkansas in the fall and plans to study nursing. Grace cannot express enough how proud she is of Stanisha.
Some of the very best mentoring relationships turn into lifelong friendships and that is surely the case for Little Sister Stanisha and Big Sister Grace. Their Mentoring Relationship Specialist, Kristen Berrett, says this match has grown tremendously close. They both have continued to stay invested over the years and have a true friendship. They really love going out to eat together–they just love catching up with each other over a good meal. Stanisha recently decided to go away for college to an HBCU (Historically Black College and Universities) and Big Sister Grace has been so supportive and helped give her the confidence to make that big decision.
