Big Sister Kali and Little Sister Dereon were matched on May 7, 2020. Kali became a Big because she hopes to be a positive role model and believes she can be a friend and mentor due to her previous work with youth as a mental health clinician.

Although their in-person outing has been delayed due to COVID-19, the two have corresponded over Zoom and Facetime and have already begun coming up with things to do together once they can meet in person – one of which is to learn a new dance together!

This match was lit with the support of John and Kristi Herbert.

Kali and Dereon are 1 of 50 matches made possible thanks to BBBSCI’s Light One Match Giving Society, a new leadership society made possible through the generosity of Al and Shary Oak.
