Little Sister Ajene and Big Sister Makayla Kirksey have been matched together for 2 years. Ajene will be graduating from Irvington Preparatory Academy in May of 2023. Come Fall Ajene will be attending IUPUI studying Forensic Pathology. Ajene is the scholarship recipient of the Mr. & Mrs. Maurice Frank Scholarship Fund. 

During their time in the BBBSCI program together Little Sister Ajene and Big Sister Makayla enjoyed kayaking at Eagle Creek, carving pumpkins, and going to Bulter Women’s Basketball games. Ajene shared the most that she has gotten out of her relationship with Makayla is to be happy for herself and her accomplishments. Makayla shared that she has looked forward to seeing Ajene’s hard work pay off as she transitions to college.

Makayla said if she could share one thing with Ajene about her impact on her life she would say, "Being your Big has been one of the highlights of my last 2 years. Thanks for making life fun and for always making me laugh! I love how our relationship has blossomed over the last few years and I am so excited for this next chapter in your life." The BBBSCI Family will be rooting for both Ajene and Makayla after graduating from the program. We wish you both the best of luck!
