Little Sister A’merykal and Big Sister Brittany Horswell have been matched together for 4 years. A’merykal will be graduating from Pike High School in May 2023. A’merykal plans to enter the workforce after graduation.

During their time in the BBBSCI (Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana) program Little Sister A’merykal and Big Sister Brittany enjoyed making dinner together, Escape Room, Newfields Winterlights, and sports games. A’merykal shared that she has gained a strong connection with Brittany during their time together. Brittany shared that A’merykal has taught her resilience and choosing to see the beauty and power that comes from learning from our mistakes and working through them.

Brittany said if she could share one thing with A’merykal about her impact on her life she would say, "A’merykal, I have told you this time and time again – and I’ll say it again: I am stunned by your wisdom and maturity that extend beyond your years. If I had your perspective as a teenager. It could have saved me from a whole lot of bitterness and heartache. You have shown me the power of working through our past, sifting through the good and the bad in our lives and choosing not to discount the things that have formed us and made us beautiful. I am unspeakably proud of you. You are destined for a path of joy and purpose if you keep taking care of your mind, sticking to your gut, and bringing your heart to Jesus. Your story holds the power to impact hope to others."
