Youth Mental Health First Aid teaches you how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges among children and adolescents ages 12-18. You’ll learn a 5-step action plan for how to help young people in both crisis and non-crisis situations. This program provides essential information and training for adults who interact with children on a regular basis.

What Mental Health First Aid Covers

  • Common signs and symptoms of mental health challenges in this age group, including anxiety, depression, eating disorders and ADHD.
  • Common signs and symptoms of substance use challenges.
  • How to interact with a child or adolescent in crisis.
  • How to connect the youth with help.
  • Expanded content on trauma, substance use, self-care and the impact of social media and bullying.

Please join us on Saturday, October 21st to take part in this important training. You will receive the Youth Mental Health First Aid textbook and workbook published by the National Council for Mental Wellbeing. Upon completion of the course you will be certified in Youth Mental Health First Aid USA and will receive a certificate.

We recognize this is a long day but we know the information covered will support you in your match and in all interactions you have with young people. Breakfast and Lunch for this training will be provided and further information will follow about this as we get closer to the training.
