The Light One Match Society is a distinguished giving circle that encompasses a group of donors making gifts of $1,000- $9,999 to assist Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana (BBBSCI) in creating and supporting mentoring relationships each fiscal year.

It costs over $2,000 to support just one match for an entire year and with a growing waitlist of young people that have asked for a mentor, generous donors at this level can help us reach more kids in our community.

As the Light One Match Society continues to flourish, we plan to develop more robust opportunities for members to engage with the agency. Light One Match Society members receive the following each year:

  • Official Certificate of Membership.
  • Recognition in our annual report;
  • Invitations to attend exclusive Light One Match Society events;
  • A booklet that shows the impact of the Light One Match Society’s generosity; and
  • Additional agency communication and special event opportunities.

Challenge Matches for Donors

Thanks to the generosity and innovation of Al and Shary Oak, this giving society was made possible. Now, you can help us create 50 new mentoring relationships in 2023. The Oak Family has committed a $50,000 challenge gift to match 50 gifts of $1,000! Please consider taking advantage of this incredible opportunity to double your impact.

Al and Shary are dedicated supporters of all things Big Brothers Big Sisters, and their passion for the young people in the community is inspiring to us all. Al served as President of Big Brothers of Greater Indianapolis and as a board member of BBBSCI. Additionally, Al has given his time to three Littles in our program! The Oaks have a strong belief in mentoring after having a critical role in the impact our program has had over the past several decades. We are beyond grateful for the support of the Oak family and their commitment to the limitless potential of every young person.

The Oaks aren’t the only ones challenging the community. An anonymous donor has committed an additional $50,000 to match 25 gifts of $2,000, enough to fund 50 more matches! Our challenge donors are activating our supporters to defend, ignite, and empower the potential of our community’s young people. Will you accept their challenge?
