Perry Meridian High School

Match: Little Sister Elizabeth and Big Sister Merrilinda Nichols 

Match Date: January 20, 2016

High School: Perry Meridian High School

Little Sister Elizabeth and Big Sister Merrilinda Nichols have been matched together for 6 years. Elizabeth will be graduating from Perry Meridian High School in the Spring. Elizabeth is still considering her plans after graduation. 

When reflecting on their time together in the program and how Little Sister Elizabeth has grown over the past 6 years Merrilinda shared, “Elizabeth has grown into fine young woman that exudes kindness and friendliness. We help each other to be strong and have developed a lifelong friendship and bond.” 

Elizabeth and Merrilinda have done a lot together over the years, some memories that stand out for them were attending a Taylor Swift concert together! Also, when they helped find a family who left their car keys and wallet that they left at a Dairy Queen. In addition, to these special memories, Elizabeth and Merrilinda have enjoyed many of the BBBSCI agency sponsored match events and going out with one another.  

Merrilinda has one message that she would like to leave for Elizabeth, “Always be kind and always remember that your smile and kindness can change someone’s day for the better.” The BBBSCI family and Merrilinda will be rooting for Elizabeth in her next chapter!

Perry Meridian High School

Match: Little Sister Jaslynn and Big Sister Marcie Walker

Match Date: October 20, 2017

High School: Perry Meridian High School 

Little Sister Jaslynn and Big Sister Marcie Walker have been matched together for 4 years. Jaslynn will be graduating from Perry Meridian High School in the Spring. Currently, Jaslynn is still considering her plans after graduation. 

When reflecting on their time together in the program and how Little Sister Jaslynn has grown over the past 4 years Marcie shared, “I have enjoyed watching her blossom into the wonderful lady she is today and know she will make a significant impact on the lives around her in years to come!! She has gone from quiet to vibrant in the few short years I have been blessed to know her.”  

Jaslynn and Marcie have done a lot together over the years, but some memories that stand out for both of them were attending the Escape Room, visiting the Apple Orchard, horseback riding, getting ice cream, and pottery class! In addition to these special memories, Jaslynn and Marcie have enjoyed many of the BBBSCI agency sponsored match events and hanging out.  

Marcie has one message that she would like to leave for Jaslynn, “Don’t hold back on your dreams, do not underestimate your own strengths, and always shine bright to the world around you!!” The BBBSCI family and Marcie will be rooting for Jaslynn in her future endeavors.

Southport High School

Match: Little Sister Maggie and Big Sister Samantha Bresnahan

Match Date: May 22, 2015

High School: Compass Education

Little Sister Maggie and Big Sister Samantha Bresnahan have been matched together for 7 years. Maggie will be graduating from Compass Education in the Spring. Come the Fall, Maggie is planning to attend Ball State University to study Social Work.  

When reflecting on their time together in the program and how Little Sister Maggie has grown over the past 7 years Samantha shared, "I’ve gotten the opportunity to watch Maggie grow and big milestones in her life like getting her first job, starting, and finishing high school, etc. She has always been incredibly mature, thoughtful, and kind. Our relationship has grown to where we can have really open conversations and talk about every topic under the sun!”  

Maggie and Samantha have done a lot together over the years, memories that stand out for them from their first meeting to baking cookies, watching scary movies, getting Fall themed Starbucks drinks and more! In addition to these special memories Maggie and Samantha have enjoyed many of the BBBSCI agency sponsored match events and going out for meals together.  

Samantha has one message that she would like to leave for Maggie, “Trust your gut! It’s always good to get other people’s advice on important decisions but at the end of the day, you know what is best for you. Also, I’m so proud of you and the person you’ve become!” The BBBSCI family and Samantha will be rooting for Maggie as she heads into this next chapter of her life at Ball State University.

Match: Little Sister Sarah-Beth and Big Sister Kathryn Sattler

Match Date: November 7, 2013

High School: Perry Meridian High School

Little Sister Sarah-Beth and Big Sister Katie have been matched together for 9 years. Sarah-Beth will be graduating from Pike High School in the Spring. Sarah-Beth is still considering her plans after graduation.  

When reflecting on their time together in the program and how Little Sister Sarah-Beth has grown over the past years Katie shared, “We trust one another and are open about our feelings, challenges, etc. Our entire family’s get-together and share life.” 

Sarah-Beth and Katie have done a lot together over the years memories that stand out for them both was attending the Taylor Swift concert. Neither of them was fans of her music initially but it was Sarah’s first concert and they wanted to try something new. They both left empowered, energized, and encouraged. Hearing Taylor Swift music in the car is a reminder of their time together. Also, attending the Dolphin Experience at the Zoo and being able to swim with the dolphins.  

Katie has one message that she would like to leave for Sarah-Beth, “You are such a gift to me and the world! Your compassion and generous heart are what I love about you. You have much to share wherever life takes you.” The BBBSCI family and Katie will be rooting for Sarah-Beth as she heads into this next chapter of her life.

Southport High School

Match: Littler Sister Shyane and Big Sister Dawn Molnar

Match Date: July 21, 2021

High School: Southport High School

Little Sister Shyane and Big Sister Dawn Molnar have been matched together for 9 months. Shyane will be graduating from Southport High School in the Spring. Come the Fall, Shyane is planning to attend IUPUI (Indiana University Purdue University of Indianapolis) for nursing and join the National Guard. 

When reflecting on their time together in the program and how Little Sister Shyane has grown over the past 9 months Dawn shared, “We are more comfortable hanging together. We have good conversations about everything.”  Shyane shared,” Our relationship has grown since we first met by me being able to be myself and us being able to joke with each other and think it is funny. It was a bit weird in the beginning because we were just getting to know each other and even though we were able to talk to each other it seemed weird now we can talk and joke and have some fun.” 

Shyane and Dawn have a lot together over the last 9 months, they both have memories that are dear to them both. Such as when Dawn took Shyane to her first musical and watching her laugh, clap, and sing along was so much fun. Also, their trip to Skyzone was memorable moment where they jumped and laughed together. In addition to these special memories Shyane and Dawn have enjoyed some of the BBBSCI agency sponsored match events.  

Dawn has one message that she would like to leave for Shyane, “Be true to yourself and do what makes you happy.” The BBBSCI family and Dawn will be rooting for Shyane as she heads into this next chapter of her life at IUPUI and the National Guard.
