THE VIRTUAL MATCHING EXPERIENCE

The world may look a little different, but our mission to create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth remains the same. Every day we are matching children in our community with volunteers who are excited to defend, ignite, and empower their Little's potential. Check out the FAQ below to learn how we've have adapted our program to keep our constituents safe while still providing life-changing friendships to more than 1,200 children in Central Indiana.
Yes, now more than ever, adults and youth are looking for ways to interact with others. We have adapted each part of our process to continue enrolling and introducing new youth and mentors into our program.
We have adapted our processes to allow for remote interviewing, training, and matching. Both of our youth and volunteer interviews are taking place virtually or in-person based on the preference of the applicant. We have also adapted our pre-match training to take place virtually.
When new matches are introduced, they have the option of meeting in person or virtually. If a match begins virtual, they must remain virtual for 90 days or until they meet in person with a BBBSCI staff member present. If a match begins in-person, they are able to switch to virtual at any time.
Each match is welcome to meet in person or connect virtually on their own based on the comfort levels of the Big, Little, and parents. If meeting in person, please review our most recent match guidelines. We are hosting some in person match activities outdoors with small groups. There are safety guidelines in place to help mitigate risks when matches are together in-person. We have developed a wide variety of virtual events and activities for our matches.
Your child's Big has access to our Big App to review upcoming match activities and other resources for spending time with their Little. Mentoring Relationship Specialists are also a great tool for matches when it comes to connecting virtually or in person.
