You don't need to have a specific title, a degree, or any special qualifications other than being compassionate, patient, & affirming. Because just like mentoring itself, a kid will never ask that you be perfect, only that you be present.
Maybe it was the coach who encouraged you to keep going. The guidance counselor who insisted your dreams were within reach. The colleague who took the time to listen and offer advice even though they weren't your manager.
The truth is these little moments are what shape our lives & can have life-changing impact on the lives of young people.
