Name: Camille Brugh
Title: Senior Director, Mentoring Relationships & Program Outcomes
Start Date: December 2006
My favorite memory from working at BBBSCI is … Oh, there are so many! It’s so hard to pick one event throughout the years. Each memory that makes me smile has something to do with the relationships formed through BBBS—co-workers, local and national project partners, Bigs, Littles, and their families. All of my favorite memories has more to do with the people than any one event or project.
What I love most about my job is … Constantly learning. My job is a really fun mix of learning from the team of professionals on staff, the thought-leaders in mentoring, community members striving to and making big things happen in our city, and the Bigs and Littles. I’m always going to love a job when I can learn something new each day. BBBSCI is that place for me!
How has mentoring played a role in your life?I feel like I’ve had a lot of mentors in my life, even if those folks don’t always formally know they were my mentor. I learn a lot by watching and listening to the leaders in my life—they’re always shaping and influencing my thoughts and ideas. I’ve been very lucky to have had a few key people in my educational and employment worlds that helped me grow, navigate which choices to make, and tell me it’s ok to take some risks to get where you want to be.
When I’m not at work, you can find me … Outside! I love taking hikes with my dog, sitting outside at a restaurant/café, working in the yard, just about anything that involves the outdoors.
What is your favorite spot(s) in Indy? Shouldn’t be a surprise from the last question, but the Newfields at the IMA. It’s my favorite mix of history, beauty, and nature.
