PARTNER SPOTLIGHT: IVY TECH COMMUNITY COLLEGE

Ivy Tech Community College’s long-standing partnership has been instrumental in preparing high school aged Littles for their next steps after high school.  Ivy Tech serves as a Graduating Class Sponsor for the Big Futures program and provides scholarships annually to BBBSCI Littles.

Ivy Tech also hosts the Big Futures Program flagship event, Career Exploration. On February 18, 2023, matches met at the Ivy Tech Culinary and Conference center for the fourth annual Career Exploration Event. Matches enjoyed breakfast then broke out into three career panels. Panels included, a nurse, an orthopedic surgeon, pilot, HR professionals, engineers, finance professionals, an aircraft maintenance technician, career coach, cosmetology business owner, reporter, and more! After the panels, Littles engaged in a guided networking exercise over lunch, practicing professional networking skills and making real connections in their fields of interest. Also included in the day was a tour of the Ivy Tech campus, where Littles were able to see firsthand the welding, technology, and culinary opportunities offered at Ivy Tech. Matches also received guidance on scholarships, financial aid, and support opportunities for Ivy Tech students.

Thank you, Ivy Tech Community College for empowering young people in Central Indiana!
