North Central High School

Match: Little Sister Ariana and Big Sister Roxi Hahn 

Match Date: March 9, 2018

High School: North Central High School 

Little Sister Ariana and Big Sister Roxi Hahn have been matched together for 4 years. Ariana will be graduating from North Central High School in the Spring. Come the Fall, Ariana is planning to attend college to study business. Ariana is also the scholarship recipient for the Frank Davis Scholarship Fund.

When reflecting on their time together in the program and how Little Sister Ariana has grown over the past 4 years Roxi shared, “We have very open communication, have helped each other try new things and got out of our comfort zones.” 

Ariana and Roxi have done a lot together over the years, memories that stand out for them were when they attended the Indiana State Fair. They were able to enjoy the rides, games, getting a cartoonist portrait made and most of all being able to talk and hang out. They also enjoyed it when Roxi came to visit Ariana’s high school and spoke to her class about her career! 

Roxi has one message that she would like to leave for Ariana, “Don’t be afraid to take chances, step out of your comfort zone, be your authentic self and be proud of your accomplishments as they are well deserved.” The BBBSCI family and Roxi will be rooting for Ariana as she heads into this next chapter of her life.

Match: Little Brother Cameron, Big Brother Jeremy Gallion and Big Sister Katie Gallion

Match Date: July 22, 2014

High School: North Central High School 

Little Brother Cameron, Big Brother Jeremy Gallion, and Big Sister Katie Gallion have been matched together for 7 years. Cameron will be graduating from North Central High School. Cameron will be attending Ball State University in the Fall.  Cameron is also the scholarship recipient for the Ivy Tech Foundation.

When reflecting on their time together in the program and how Little Brother Cameron has grown over the years Jeremy shared, “The friendship. Cameron was 10 when we first met and now, he is an 18-year-old man. We have a lot of similar interests and have done so many different things together that has grown our friendship. When we are together these days it is just like hanging out with any other friend I have.”  

Cameron and Jeremy have done a lot together over the years, and memories that stand out for them was bonding over sports. Also, when they went to Go Ape an adventure park was a memorable time. There was a free fall at the end of the course and while Jeremy was nervous to jump Cameron was not. Cameron went first with no hesitation and that gave Jeremy the confidence to take the jump.  

Jeremy has one message that he would like to leave for Cameron, “No matter what you are doing in life, always work hard and do your best.” The BBBSCI family will be rooting for Cameron in his next chapter at Ball State University.

Match: Little Brother Daniel and Big Brother Conor Byron

Match Date: June 26, 2013

High School: North Central High School 

Little Brother Daniel and Big Brother Conor Bryon have been matched together for 8 years. Daniel will be graduating from North Central High School in the Spring. Daniel is still considering his plans after graduation. 

This matched has enjoyed being matched together for 8 years. They have had a fun time with one another doing fun activities and spending time together building a relationship. Their relationship has transformed from Little Brother Daniel being shy, and not wanting to talk only giving Big Brother Conor one word answers. To them now having full blow conversations about anything. Their relationship has really grown over the years that they have been matched.

A memorable moment for this match is when Big Brother Conor set up a tour at a fire station. They enjoyed the tour together and Little Brother Daniel asked questions during the tour and was really interested. Conor can recall Daniel being quiet and wanting to listen and learn more. They have truly enjoyed their time together. 

The BBBSCI family and Conor will be rooting for Daniel in his next chapter of life after graduation.

Match: Little Brother Dawson and Big Brother Andrew Worthington 

Match Date: December 23, 2014 

High School: North Central High School 

Little Brother Dawson and Big Brother Andrew Worthington have been matched together for 7 years. Dawson will be graduating from North Central High School in the Spring. Dawson is still considering his plans after graduation. 

When reflecting on their time together in the program and how Little Brother Dawson has grown over the years Andrew shared, “When we met at first, we used our time doing lots of activities – not really talking about life much, just connecting and having fun. Now we just talk – goals and dreams and the future!” 

Dawson and Andrew have done a lot together over the years but a memory that stands out for them is attending the Pacers games and being court side. In addition to this memory, they have gone to the movies together, had dinners, Indy Fuel hockey games, etc.  

Andrew has one message that he would like to leave for Dawson, “Keep your options opens and keep working hard – you are a smart young man and your future can be anything you want it to be." The BBBSCI family and Andrew will be rooting for Dawson in his next chapter of life after high school.

Match: Little Brother Isiah and Big Brother Jess Pounds

Match Date: August 17, 2016 

High School: North Central High School 

Little Brother Isiah and Big Brother Jess Pounds have been matched together for 5 years. Isiah will be graduating from North Central High School in the Spring. Isiah is still considering his plans after graduation.

When reflecting on their time together in the program and how Little Brother Isiah has grown over the years Jess shared, “Well it sounds cliché, but I would say our relationship has grown into a brotherly love for one another. I never had any brother or sisters but feel that I have one in Isiah. I am truly proud of him and the adult he is growing into. He has equally expressed his pride in me when I have a new blessing in my life, which is so kind and mature of him to express.” 

Isiah and Jess have done a lot together over the years, and the memories that stand out for them is getting dinner at their favorite place to eat together Triple XXX Root Beer stand. The have enjoyed attending Purdue basketball or football games after dinner. Jess can recall them go karting and Isiah be nervous by how fast they were going but he eventually got the hang of it and was zipping around the track as well. It was something new but Little Brother Isiah took a chance at trying something new. 

Jess has one message that he would like to leave for Isiah, “Keep your positive attitude. You have a great attitude and love of life that is contagious. That will be beneficial to you as an adult when you are presented with challenges and tough days but also to other as you become a leader in your profession and community.” The BBBSCI family and Jess will be rooting for Isiah in his next chapter of life after high school.

Match: Little Brother Martez and Big Brother Phil Beanblossom 

Match Date: January 1, 2017

High School: North Central High School 

Little Brother Martez and Big Brother Phil Beanblossom have been matched together for 5 years. Martez will be graduating from North Central High School in the Spring. Martez is still considering his plans after graduation. 

This match has enjoyed the past 5 years being matched together. They have a fun time with one another doing fun activities and spending time with one another building their relationship. They like to have dinner with one another catching up with each other and talking about things that of importance to them. Phil has been supportive of Martez and his future plans giving him encouragement and offering a listening ear.

The match has participated in BBBSCI sponsored events such as CLD College Prep Conference, College Fair and have enjoyed them. They have also enjoyed dinner together, basketball games, and etc. They have had a great time together.

Match: Little Sister Mireya and Big Sister Lindsey Osborne

Match Date: February 26, 2020

High School: North Central High School 

Little Sister Mireya and Big Sister Lindsey Osborne have been matched together for 2 years. Mireya will be graduating from North Central High School in the Spring. Mireya is still considering her plans after graduation. 

This match has enjoyed the past 2 years being matched together. They have had a fun time connecting with one another and building their relationship. They have came up with fun ways to connect virtually due to the pandemic, and Big Sister Lindsey living in another state. They have made tie dyed shirts together and had a budgeting exercise. They both do their best to connect with each other and maintain their relationship such as being on FaceTime, calling, and texting. They have enjoyed being matched together.  Lindsey has helped Mireya with making plans for the future. They both enjoy being able to connect with each other and talk about future plans and etc.

The BBBSCI family and Lindsey will be rooting for Mireya in her next chapter of life after graduation.
